Monday Morning is a grassroots advocacy movement sponsored by the Council for advocates concerned with the issues affecting the developmental disabilities community. Made up of locally-based networks, Monday Morning provides a forum for people with developmental disabilities so they can speak out for justice, equal opportunities, improved public access and a greater voice in community planning.

Each county network brings together citizens to work with local, state and federal officials on public policy issues important to people with disabilities.

The vision of Monday Morning includes:

Empowering people with developmental disabilities by educating its members about disability rights, and informing them about legislative issues that affect people with developmental disabilities

Assisting its members in developing leadership skills so they can better advocate for such things as:

Accessibility in public places, including polling sites;

Voter rights and registration for people with developmental disabilities;

More options in New Jersey’s communities for people with developmental disabilities to live, work and participate;

More reasonable housing and transportation options;

Accessible and affordable health care with provider that understand the needs of people with developmental disabilities; and

Local issues identified by individual networks.
